South Africa NYE

As my first solo trip, I had the most amazing time with Janet’s Journeys! Accomodation was always clean and even luxurious at some stays. The activities were varied fun. Travelling around South Africa felt safe with Janet!
I will absolutely do it again.

The trip was fantastic, organised so well, & fitted so much in a short space of time. Sri Lanka is a gorgeous country, the people were friendly, the food was amazing.

Comments I would add is for Ella probably would be good to eat in the village instead of the hotel. Ella is a lovely spot, well worth to spend some time there.
Same in Mirissa, the hotel in Mirissa is not great, however location is amazing. Would be good to suggest to guests to eat out, as the staff in the dining area were rude, & the food wasn’t great. 
The two Cinnamon hotels were amazing! Cannot fault them at all. Radisson in Galle is amazing too.

Janaka was an amazing guide, he went above & beyond. The trip to the gem stores was unnecessary, I felt uncomfortable there, but that was the only uncomfortable point in the tour. 

Ciara was an excellent leader, very approachable, & helpful. A fantastic representative for Janet’s Journeys.

Sri Lanka NYE with Janet's Journeys

Excellent trip around a beautiful country with a great group of ladies. Everything was very well organised. Kennedy from Chameleon Backpackers was brilliant, and Jemma led the group well from Janet's Journeys side of things. Be prepared for lots of time in the bus/safari vehicle while travelling around the country, but it was all manageable and Kennedy made regular stops for us. I would definitely recommend this trip!

Namibia in October with Janet's Journeys

This trip was amazing. I loved the unique accommodation. Our guide Tina was amazing. She was so knowledgable and enthusiastic. The excursions were brilliant. We got to see so much of Madagascar but some of my highlights were Baobab Avenue, seeing the Injury lemurs calling and the Sakiri lemurs playing on the ground in front of us, and the last day in Nosy By, going to Nosy Iranja and swimming with the manta ray and whale shark. Everyone on the trip was so friendly. I enjoyed this trip so much and it was so well organised. 

Madagascar

I had a truly amazing experience visiting Egypt. My expectations were high beforehand, but they were completely exceeded. The reason? We had two exceptional leaders with us – Shannon from JJ and Sameh, our local guide.

These two have a wonderful rapport and make such a great team. Both are fun, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. We felt safe and secure at all times, which meant we could simply relax and enjoy every moment of this incredible journey.

The itinerary for this trip is jam-packed, but there’s nothing I would leave out. From unique experiences like dinner in a Nubian home to the unforgettable hot air balloon ride, it was truly a dream trip.

Our accommodation in Cairo and Luxor was pure luxury, while Aswan was so unique – I’d love to stay there again. And the felucca experience was truly one of a kind. Every little detail was thought of, from cup holders for our drinks to charging points for our devices.

It was a trip I’ll never forget, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Egypt with Janet's Journeys

I am struggling to come up with the words for this trip, amazing doesn't seem  enough! Each accomodations was so unique and fabulous! This trip was fun filled and such amazing experiences I would highly recommend anyone to book it. Between the pyramids, temples, valley of the kings and everything else in between it was simple spectacular! The trip was so well organized and our guide was so knowledgeable.

This trip is the perfect example of how all JJ trips should be done! The planning and execution—every single day—was impeccable due to the incredible leadership, kindness, and skills of our dynamic duo leaders Shannon and Sameh. It cannot be understated how helpful and important it is to include all transfers, tips, meals, and activities like this trip did. Not having to think about these things on a daily basis is a central benefit of traveling with a guided group. The food was delicious and authentic, each experience curated for maximum understanding and enjoyment. The historic relevance of each site and the meaning behind what we were going to see at each site was carefully explained by Sameh, our expert Egyptologist! I loved every minute of this trip and group and would urge JJ to add at least one more day so we can get a bit more downtime in between the hectic schedule for pool time or sleep and traveling between destinations. The trip and experience of a lifetime. Thank you so much!

The Egypt trip with Shannon and Sameh was phenomenal! The itinerary is fantastic, the food was delicious and the group was just great! Really recommend this trip! The hotels were a great standard and while you are on the bus a lot some days it was fairly comfortable. The balloon ride was a real highlight for this trip on top of all of the amazing sites. Shannon and Sameh made everything really seamless with lots of very considerate little touches so I don't think you can get better than this combo!

Unbelievable, I enjoyed every second of this trip. It is one of the most mentally, emotionally and physically challenging things I have ever done in my life. There were moments of struggle but then many “OH MY GOD” moments. I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone that wants to do something different and feel a lot of satisfaction at the end. It is a once in a lifetime experience. 

Nepal with Janet's Journeys

Janet's Journeys trip to Jordan was spectacular, a well conceived itinerary, great attractions experiences and activities, excellent guide Mo Bani Nasr and driver Fayad, lovely hotels, wonderful food, and a fantastic group of like minded adventure travellers to share it with. Thank you Janet, another memorable journey. Highly recommended

Jordan Janet's Journeys 2025

We had an amazing adventure through Jordan! This trip gave us the opportunity to experience the history, culture and sites that Jordan has to offer! Such a brilliant trip and beautiful country to explore!!

As a group we had a fabulous time. JJ really hit the nail on the head with this trip and its itinerary. Jordan as a destination exceeded all and every expectations - and beyond. 
From Amman, to The Dead Sea, Petra (night and day), Wadi Rum (desert camping, sand dune driving, traditional cooking, and of course camel riding!) then a final visit to Aqaba and The Red Sea, with a boat trip with swimming and snorkling. 
I think the meal we had at Wadi Rum was possibly the best meal we had of the entire trip!

Mo, our guide through GoJordan was simply fantastic - knowledgable and very organised. The trip was flawless, and we had zero issues. 
We would highly recommend Mo for any trips - hopefully JJ can secure him again for any future trips to Jordan. 
One compliment I MUST pay to Mo is how he made sure I was catered for food wise - as someone with medical dietary restrictions/ requirements I know that travel is never easy and usual food standards may not exist. But Mo really did make sure I was full catered for (there was only one oversight that left me with no lunch box one day, but this was fully rectified on subsequent days). 

I would recommend that future travellers extend their own stay in Aqaba by a day or so, as I felt there was more to potentially see and do. Even take an extended trip into Saudi. 

There are so many extras to take part in also - myself and one group member went to a local (and very rustic) Turkish Spa - VERY MUCH NEEDED after a day in Petra and 30k steps. 

I don’t think I’d ever stray from Janet’s Journeys as the trip content is always spot on. 

This was the trip of a lifetime. I never thought that at the age of 69 I would be able to ascend to the heights of Everest Base Camp, but with the complete trust that I had for the local tour company Adventure Mountain Treks, and of course for Janet's Journeys, I achieved my goal, and along the way I met some lovely people, saw some amazing sights, had laughter, tears, struggles and rewards. This is a trip which I could not have done alone, and I at all times felt that I was in good hands. In a trip like this one it is important that one trust's the leaders and I at all time had 100% trust in the guides that led us all safely to Everest Base Camp and back down again. This truly was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and I am so happy to have participated in it. 

i absolutely enjoyed every second of this trip. it was such a humbling experience. It pushed me more than I ever imagined, both physically and mentally. There were moments of pure struggle and moments of absolute awe. I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone looking for an unforgettable challenge and experience. 

A unique destination. Go with an open mind. 

Central Asia Trip: OCTOBER

I have just finished a great week's trip around Namibia with Janet's journey. Booking with JJ was so easy and Janet and her team were on hand to answer any question and provide additional information about the trip.
 
Namibia is a beautiful country and I'd highly recommend the trip. The itinerary is brilliant- the days are busy with lots of wonderful places and animals to see and great things to do. Safari, local tribes, camping, sand dunes! It was a real adventure. 

 Our guide, Kennedy was great! He was full of knowledge and has a very caring nature. 

The accommodation was all fabulous. The trip finished with a wonderful stay in a giraffe hotel which I would highly recommend. 


Namibia in July with Janet's Journeys

An absolutely brilliant trip to Namibia from start to finish with the perfect mix of wildlife, sand and sea. Great food and lovely accomidation. Our leader Jemima was brilliant, she was really hands on and made sure everything ran smoothly, great job Jemima. The trip was topped by our brilliant Guide Kennedy who couldn't do more for us; chauffeured us, fed us and looked after us so well. We were sad to say goodbye to him at the end of the trip. An amazing trip all round. 

It was incredible - each country stood out for their own beauty and warmth - all our guides were great and Aisling did a great job of leading us. Fabulous trip and beautiful part of the world with a great group as always - love the ladies who travel with Janet’s journeys 

It was incredible, such an extraordinary place which I wouldn’t have been able to visit with such ease without Janet’s Journeys. Our guide, Maia, was lovely very knowledgeable and welcoming.

Turkmenistan with Janet's Journeys

This was honestly one of the best trips I’ve ever done. We visited Samoa, Fiji, and Vanuatu, and every place had something completely different and special to offer.
Samoa was absolutely stunning. The scenery was unreal, and the locals were so friendly and welcoming. Snorkelling with turtles was such a pinch-me moment, and visiting the giant clam sanctuary was incredible. The To Sua Ocean Trench was like something straight off a postcard, it's an experience I’ll never forget.
Fiji was the perfect little breather in between all the adventures and a chance to relax, soak up the sun, and just enjoy the island vibes before heading off again.
Then over in Vanuatu, the trip went to another level. Hiking an active volcano on Tanna Island was honestly mind-blowing, standing on the edge and watching it erupt at night felt like something out of a movie. Staying in a rickety tree house, visiting the cargo cults, and bumping around the island in the back of a pickup truck all added to the magic. It felt so raw and far from the usual tourist trail, which I loved.
The group I travelled with was absolutely fantastic. Everyone got on so well, and it really made the experience even better. By the end, it felt like travelling with a bunch of friends with so many laughs and memories shared along the way.
I came home buzzing from it all, with a full camera roll, a head full of memories, and a serious case of post-trip blues. I’d 100% rebook another adventure like this in a heartbeat.
If you’re thinking about it, just go for it! You’ll see some of the most beautiful places in the world, meet amazing people, and make memories that will stay with you forever. I absolutely loved every minute!

South Pacific Adventure Trip

Had a wonderful time on this trip. I was really surprised by the accommodation and food throughout, all was of very high standard. The itinerary itself was fantastic with a few amazing surprises, and the guides and tour members made it all very special! Definitely will book another tour with Janet in the future :)

Uganda in August Janet's Journeys

Amazing trip in a stunning country! So well organised and got to experience so much with a fab group of people!

Fantastic trip from start to finish, everything from standard of accomodation, food and experiences was brilliant! The highlight was seeing a gorilla family so close and spending time with them. Once in a lifetime experience, I will never forget!

What a fantastic trip with great people,loads of laughs ,great guides and group leader. Then there's the  wildlife from the baboons, elephants giraffes warthog and gorillas. Would highly recommend this trip with Janets Journeys

It was a magical hoilday, the places we went, the animals we saw, the food and most importantly the girls were amazing. Would definitely recommend these trips. You would never be able to see and do as much if you done it yourself 

I had a great time during the trip. The girls were very open-minded and funny. I also really liked the fact that in the evenings we were always randomly paired with someone to share a room with. That way, I got the chance to get to know some of the girls better who weren’t on the same bus as us. My highlight was definitely the gorilla trekking – truly an incredible experience – and also seeing lions in the wild.

Unfortunately, based on the itinerary, I had expected the safari part to be more extensive, as it was described that way. In the end, we only had two real game drives – though we were very lucky to see so many animals during them.

Overall, it was a successful first trip to Uganda and I would recommend doing it :)

Uganda with Janet's Journeys

An unforgettable experience. Magical moments among the animals in the wild. Stunning accommodation and an amazing bunch of girls to share the wonderful memories with. The hospitality was 5star. It was a brilliant trip from start to finish. 

An amazing country to visit and delighted I got to see some of it.

Colombia July Trip

I had a super time on the trip to Colombia.  The group were a really great group of ladies.  The fun, craic and chats were mightly.  The accommodation on the trip was excellent. The location of the accommodations in particular were so central that they were great.  There was a great mix of activities on the trip.  The dinner locations were very well researched and the food was delicious.  An excellent trip that I would highly recommend. 

I really enjoyed this trip and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Every part of the tour was high quality, well organised and a good balance between plans and rest time. It was a great opportunity to meet like-minded solo travellers and to visit places you might not have the confidence/ set up to go to otherwise.

Had the most amazing trip. Peru was such a beautiful country and I would highly recommend going! Cusco, Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mointain were some of my highlights from the trip.

Was well organised and no pressure to attend all planned excursions which I really liked as it can be busy.

Japan Trip 2 with Janet's Journeys

Excellent trip with an  amazing group of people. This was my third trip with Janet’s Journeys and I have to say it was one of the best trips ever. Janet always puts together an amazing itinerary. The accommodation was excellent and the meals included were wonderful especially the 2 food tours. I would highly recommend Janet’s Journeys to anyone who is looking for adventure and unique group travel experiences. 

Japan is a must visit - the people, culture, food - everything was incredible.

This trip was a once in a lifetime experience. Everything was well organised and we had plenty of unique experiences packed in. The highlight for me was definitely the tea ceremony and kimono experience. Travelling the country with a wonderful group of people is a memory I will treasure forever. Janet and the local guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend anyone thinking about booking this trip to just do it! Japan is a beautiful country filled with history and culture, I couldn't imagine a better way to see it!

To be honest, this trip was rather average. Yes it was great to see Japan and experience the culture but I feel the arranged element could have been better. What you see on Instagram is very much a highlight reel and I don't think the trip was value for money. 

This was an amazing trip around the stunning island of Sri Lanka.  The people, the culture, the experiences, the activities and the craic - this trip had it all! From the amazing people on the trip, to the guides and leader; we made and shared the best memories.  I would recommend a trip to Sri Lanka in a heartbeat! 💗 

Sri Lanka with Janet's Journeys 2025

I spent 10 days in Japan over the Easter break. It was amazing with a great bunch of people. It was a fully packed itinerary visiting three very different cities Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. There was also the highlights of the trip visiting and seeing Mt Fuji on a clear day, staying in a traditional Japanese Ryokan and of course having the chats with the bowing deer's in Nara. I would highly recommend this trip.

Had the most amazing time in Japan! Such a fun filled itinerary, so many cool and unique experiences and just a great gang to enjoy it with! Highlights were seeing Mount Fuji and staying in a Ryokan, sushi making and Nara deer park 😍

My trip to Socotra with Janet's Journey was truly unforgettable. Although I was the only Dutch participant in the group, surrounded by Irish, British, and American women, I immediately felt at home. In no time, I found myself having meaningful conversations with fellow travelers.

Janet is a true connector and an avid, passionate traveler. It was inspiring to see how positive and enthusiastic she became while exploring the island of Socotra. Her energy is contagious and she naturally attracts like-minded people — adventurous, open-hearted and curious travelers. This created an incredible group dynamic that made the journey even more special.

The beauty of Socotra speaks for itself, but experiencing it with Janet’s Journey added a whole new dimension. From the stunning landscapes to the warm local encounters, every moment felt authentic and memorable. Socotra Camping Adventure

The most wonderful experience getting to explore probably one of the world’s last untouched paradises!! Be prepared for an epic adventure, such variety every day in the scenery and landscapes we explored, waking up to sunrise over an amazing forest or by crystal clear turquoise water!! Dont expect luxury, but sleeping in a tent under the stars and next to such beautiful scenery is worth it! 

Another wonderful trip with Janet! The 7 days felt like weeks, we did so much and saw so much but also managed to have lots of relaxation time. Socotra is the most surprising and magical destination, we were looked after so well during the trip. 100% would recommend to others. 

It was incredible - the landscape and  the experiences (esp the dolphins) will be hard to beat - camping on the beaches and staying in the forest will stay with me forever - the drivers and guide are so helpful and friendly and great craic - it makes you take the occasional natural toilet break and showers in your stride - of course it’s all about who you’re with and as always the people who travel with Janet’s Journeys quickly become friends and make the experience - strongly recommend - it’s a privilege to visit and experience such a beautiful country 

Wonderful experience the food, itinery and people were great. Highly recommend!

Philippines with Janet's Journeys

I had a wonderful time in Philippines. Janet lead the trip and the girls were absolutely amazing. Really enjoyed getting to know each and everyone of them. The highlights of the trip were water canyoning near Maolbaol, zipwires, 3 day boat trip from EL Nido to Coron. Janet was very organised and when bad weather struck ( heavy rain) and an activity had to be cancelled, she pivoted very quickly and organised something equally as brilliant in it's place. She is a very sociable and interesting person and gets alot of repeat business which just says it all.

I had a brilliant trip and did some once in a lifetime stuff on this adventure to the Philippines.  Highly recommend Janets Journeys
